Practice Fees

General Practitioner

Late Cancellation & Non-Attendance Fees

  • Failure to cancel within 4hours of scheduled appointment - $20.00.
  • Failure to attend scheduled appointment (or notification) - $20.00.

New Patient Fees

  • All Patients with concessional cards, including DVA are provided a bulk billed initial consultation.
  • All General Patients without concessional cards have an initial consultation fee will be Out-of-Pocket $37.10.
  • All Children, under 16years are provided a bulk billed initial consultation.

Concessional Fees & Children (Under 16yrs)

  • All Concessional & DVA Card holders, and Children (Under 16years) have access to a Bulk-Billed service.

Please be aware that some surgical and other procedures attract private ‘Out-Of-Pocket’ Fees for patients, due to consumption fees.

Types of appointment:
  • Short Appointments - Script and referral renewals (10 - 15 Minutes)
  • Standard Appointment - Discuss one or two health issues (10 - 15 Minutes)
  • Long Consultation - Complex conditions, discuss more that 2 health issues, lump excisions and pap smears (20 Minutes)

Results and Recalls

An appointment is required for test results as we do not give test results over the phone. The clinic may send you a reminder to review your result.

However, if you have had investigations, you are encouraged to take up the responsibility to discuss your results with your GP. Please make an appointment to see your doctor.

Prescription Policy

Prescriptions always require a consultation with the doctor. Please book your appointments in advance. Our doctors do not prescribe S8 medications or drugs of addiction.

SMS Appointment reminders

Our SMS appointment reminder system is in place to help you with appointment reminders and recalls.
Please let us know if your would prefer to opt-out of this service.

Forms

If you require a form to be filled in by a doctor such as Centrelink, Disabled Driving Permit, Worker’s Compensation etc. Please note that our doctors are unable to complete forms without you being present.

We ask that you do not drop forms in at Reception rather please make an appointment to see a your doctor to complete any forms or paperwork.

Webster Packs

We do not automatically send your pharmacy repeat prescriptions for items in your webster packs. Kindly request your pharmacist to send you a reminder, when you are due for new prescriptions so that you can make an appointment with your GP. Any condition requiring regular medication also requires regular monitoring by a doctor.

At the doctor’s discretion, prescriptions may be sent to pharmacies for patients that have great difficulty attending the practice due to chronic illness/impairment or disability and who do not have a family member or carer who can assist them.

Dear Valued patients,
Bannockburn doctors will be on leave from December 14th of December - January 5th, 2025. Appointments will be available again from the 6th of January.
If you require repeat scripts, please arrange appointments prior to 13th of December.

Bannockburn Medical Centre is moving into Mix billing starting from mid of January 2023

Patients with Medicare will have the following charges:

  • NEW Patients will have a fee of $110, which is an out-of-pocket cost of $33.05
  • Standard appointment (single appointment) will be $65. out of pocket will be $25.25.
  • Gap payments may exist for some services/procedures, please ask the reception staff about applicable fees.
  • Weekend appointments are same weekdays fees.
  • Patients without a current Medicare card are requested to pay at the time of consultation, the full amount of the fee of the selected consultation.
  • Please check with your GP regarding any out-of-pocket expenses incurred for specialist referrals, X-rays, etc.
  • Please note, patients with no Medicare will have to pay the full amount of the consultation
  • Cancellation fees are $20 if they happen within 24 hours. Before that will be no fees.
